Responsibilities

You will:

  • Lead and develop a team of five rebate specialists, focusing on hiring, training, and setting performance targets to align with departmental objectives. Monitor progress through regular reviews to drive accountability and results.
  • Optimize rebate collections to minimize outstanding balances, ensure supplier compliance with payment terms, and address program shortfalls with efficient solutions. Manage rebate programs for over 250 suppliers across 100+ distribution facilities.
  • Implement and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual task assignments for team members to align department activities with internal and external financial reporting process timelines. Ensure accurate month-end rebate accruals, provide data support for general ledger postings, and collaborate closely with Finance to reconcile general ledger accounts and address discrepancies effectively.
  • Oversee collection activities, monitor vendor accounts receivable statuses, and evaluate rebate program performance. Develop strategies to mitigate financial risks and design reporting systems to track key initiatives.
  • Lead year-end growth rebate initiatives, coordinating with supply chain teams to maximize payments while managing risks. Document supplier rebate programs and collaborate with Product Management to support supplier negotiations.
  • Support the launch of new collections software by providing strategic oversight and ensuring team readiness. Test the software and provide feedback to developers to enhance functionality and user experience.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure contract compliance and performance alignment.
  • Work with Legal, Supply Chain, Category Management, IT, and Finance teams to align stakeholders on rebate program details and ensure a cohesive approach. Serve as the primary contact for rebate-related inquiries and resolutions.
  • Provide expertise in understanding complex rebate programs to support internal and external stakeholders effectively. Interpret complex rebate improvement and accurately, provide feedback internally for improvement, and engage all stakeholders effectively.

Qualifications

You have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3-5 years proven experience in collections, accounts receivable, or financial management (minimum 3-5 years).
  • Previous leadership or management experience in a collection’s environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in managing financial data.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills for handling multiple priorities.
  • Proven ability to assess risk and develop effective strategies to mitigate financial exposure.
  • Strong proficiency in creating process flowcharts, identifying financial and operational risks, and implementing new processes and controls to address and mitigate those risks is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of and ability to apply Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US-GAAP) to accurately estimate and recognize future cash payments and vendor credits.
  • Advanced data analysis skills to generate actionable insights for improving processes.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with hands-on experience in modeling. Familiarity with Program Tracking Management (PTM) software and database management is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team to achieve performance goals.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain productive vendor relationships and foster open communication.
  • Independent and collaborative work style, with minimal supervision needed.
