Imperial Dade, a leading North American distributor, has an Service Technician opportunity available in either our Tupelo, MS office or Muscle Shoals, AL! 

 

The Service Technician is responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing equipment purchased, sold, warranted, or contracted by the company. This role ensures all repairs and maintenance are conducted safely, professionally, and courteously. The Service Technician will also coordinate service activities, manage customer interactions, and oversee inventory and documentation related to equipment servicing.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Schedules preventative maintenance on-site repairs or service contract repairs to be done each day.
  • Quote estimates on Parts & Repairs and notify customer when requested.  Upon completion of repair, promptly fill out repair work order for return to customer.
  • Answer customer telephone calls and provide information and take requests for pick up of equipment to be repaired.
  • Request parts, accessories, equipment and special orders directly with Supervisor
  • Maintain paperwork for work orders. Keep inventory log on all serialized and serviced equipment (purchased and sold).
  • Enter all information on equipment repair log.
  • Process & schedule equipment demo and rental transactions.
  • Stage and demonstrate equipment to customers after order and delivery
  • Resolve all customer (internal & external) issues regarding repairs.
  • Perform daily, monthly or quarterly inventories.
  • Responsible for maintaining a safe, neat, organized, and functional repair area.
  • Assist in the initial set up and tracking of service contracts.
  • Coordinates with sales, customer service, warehousing and purchasing departments to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Continually enhance industry knowledge by continuing education.
  • Follow safety and housekeeping procedures.

Qualifications

You have:

  • Prior service repair and maintenance experience (distribution environment preferred).
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Ability to travel to make service repairs.
  • Ability to stand and be in motion at all times.  Flexible enough to walk, twist, bend, stoop, pull, grip and lift merchandise.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to learn and operate ERP system.
  • Possess a valid Driver License.
  • Ability to keep up with the physical demands of the position, such as bending, kneeling, squatting, lifting, and climbing
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
