The Systems Administrator will have overall responsibility for iSeries system administration, servers, user accounts, monitoring computer console, security document flow and end-user support. The successful System Administrator will have the ability to use his/her technical, analytical, and communication skills to both maintain and improve upon existing technologies and systems, while continuing to expand their skillset learning and implementing new technologies. This position is from approximately 8:00 am-5:00 pm, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

You will:

  • Perform server administration tasks, including user/group administration, security permissions, group policies, print services, research event log warnings and errors, and resource monitoring, ensuring system architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor datacenter health and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers as needed
  • Maintain internal infrastructure requirements including, laptop and desktop computers, servers, printers, phones, security and patch updates
  • Interact with the help desk and other teams to assist in troubleshooting, identify root cause, and provide technical support when needed
  • Perform routine/scheduled audits of the systems, including all backups

Qualifications

You have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology or computer science
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Extensive experience with VMWare and Active Directory
  • Experience with all current Windows operating systems. Some Linux experience also a plus.
  • Very Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong IT troubleshooting skills
  • Some experience with Citrix preferred
  • Knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues
  • Strong aptitude to learn and adapt to new technologies, operating systems, hardware, and software
  • Understanding of networking concepts and best practices
  • Ability to respond to help desk requests or critical issues after hours on an as needed basis
